Trying to eat healthy? Nacho problem today

Happy Friendship Day everyone!

What's that mean? Means another day of unhealthy food festivities. In fairness I did a bunch of yard work today and skipped breakfast so maybe that balances out... I mean technically if I go bulletproof diet I'm sure it's 80% healthy at the least. But I'm no expert on dieting so what do I know.

My youngest brother was my partner in crime on this day. First meal was at a Chicagoland staple: Portillo's. Pretty sure if you google it and/or look up at your favorite restaurant review location- you'll see that Portillo's is known for hot dogs and Italian beef. They have other items- chicken and fish sandwiches, Italian sausage, and salads- however for the most part I think you typically either get a hot dog or Italian beef. I mean it makes sense to go with what a place is best known for. This trip was no exception. I ended up with a jumbo hot dog and small fries. Like a dummy I forgot to take a picture but for the sake of being professional look at this stock photo and imagine my selection was identical.

As can be expected it was unhealthy and well worst the blown calories. Fear not as I has a cup of water for a drink so I didn't go "crazy". Also to be noted by brother paid which was very kind/cool of him. Typically I always try to pay for meals- mostly with Tina as it drives her bonkers. Pretty much picked up that habit from my mom. But honestly it's one of those things - at least in my world- that shows appreciation for folks spending time with you. Times probably one of the greatest things you can give someone. This sappiness has brought to you by good food.

It was a late lunch- which honestly why is there no term for that? I mean there's brunch- which is between breakfast and lunch- but we don't have a term for between lunch and dinner? That's just stupid. I mean clearly the obviously front runner would be Lunner. I mean if order didn't matter I would suggest Dunch because it sounds horrible. Ended up seeing the new Jason Bourne movie afterwards- was a fantastic movie if you're into action type flicks.

Randomly my brother wanted to hit up Dairy Queen for a blizzard. I haven't been there in over 5 years if not longer. Was pretty funny as I had no idea why the guy opened the window and held the blizzard upside down. I may have uttered "what the (best swear word ever) are you doing?" Apparently its like a quality control type thing? I don't know I didn't pay attention. I did think it would be pretty funny if the dude dropped it but that did not happen.  It was pretty good but I mean Reese's peanut butter cups make most hings delicious.

Ended up watching "Living on a Razor's Edge: The Scott Hall Story" while enjoying said blizzard. For you wrestling fans out there it to was a fantastic watch. Razor Ramon was my mom's favorite wrestler back in the early 90's.  I'm assuming it was cause she's a horn dog and he had a good physique. I mean she might surprise us by saying her persona but my money is on physique.

For dinner went to the local Mexican restaurant Burritos Arandas. If there's one thing about me and food, I can eat Mexican food on a daily basis without a problem. Also to continue the friendship celebration I ended up going with Al Pastor nachos which hit the spot.

No worries I did not eat all of the nachos no matter how badly my inner fat kid self wanted to. Was a great day out with my brother so it was all worth it. I'll get back on track tomorrow...unless day 4 happens..DUNT DUNT DUUUUUUUUN.

#FriendItForward,
