Uncle Bub's....ok?

Over the weekend, Jerms and I went to go try Uncle Bub's BBQ in Westmont. It was....an experience for sure. So when you walk in, you have to follow a bunch of arrows on the floor to get to the ordering station, where you then order, then sit and they run your food out to you. I was confused as to if this was a tipping restaurant or not, and I often find it presumptive when you have to DECIDE RIGHT NOW on the receipt (by pushing a yes/no button) if you are going to tip. So um, sorry yeah no. I didn't do that. Because I wasn't clear on what was happening, but also if I have to get my own refills then...no. That being said, like five DIFFERENT people kept stopping by to see if we liked our food. Like, I get it, but calm down. It was very aggressive service. I also was cranky. This may have affected my view of service.
So. We had a bloomin onion, which was the star of the meal. It was really good. I enjoyed it. The sauces. I really enjoyed the spicy one but it wasn't *that* spicy.
The number on our table. I did think the chicken was cute.

It really was a good bloomin onion.
Jerms got a three meat platter with hot link, pulled pork and brisket. I had the broasted chicken. We got mashed potatoes and gravy, baked beans, fries and fried mac n cheese as sides.
I don't know why I took these photos all crazy but whatever. SO. Pulled pork, very tender. No flavor. The brisket was allegedly smoked. Tender but again, no flavor. Hot link-Just fine.
Potatoes....fine. beans..not good.
Broasted Chicken was good. Fries were just plain fries. The Fried Mac n Cheese was the biggest disappointment. It was so flavorless. Like it didn't even taste like boxed mac n cheese.
Overall, I would not recommend this place. It says it's award winning...granted we didn't get the ribs, which may in fact be excellent. Overall, I felt like everything was way under-seasoned and that Gemato's (Reef's fave) is about 23487234792374 better.
