While in the food discussion "planning", Hamid goes "do you like shrimp?' Like the true fat kid I was and am at heart I responded with "I eat everything." Disclaimer- yes I would eat any food however I am not a big fan of certain foods. That being said and part of the dinner conversation is I grew up in a you eat what's served or you don't eat mindset. Also I do go "hey I paid for this so have to finish it." I can disassociate the stuff I don't like and eat whatever even disgusting bacon wrapped dates.
So this lead to going to dinner at Frank's Chicago Shrimp House in Hoffman Estates. (http://frankschicagoshrimp.com/) I typically don't do seafood very often as the wife is allergic to seafood and also I think the usual squad of folks I do meals with don't like seafood for the most part. The exception being Rubio's fish tacos in California and fresh crab which my wife actually likes. With that said I was excited to try a shrimp place. Per Hamid, Frank's Chicago Shrimp (which has several locations) was the local place he would go to growing up. He was super excited when it opened up in Hoffman Estates and lucky for me he hadn't been there in quite a bit. This place did not disappoint (for folks into seafood and shrimp). The following items were ordered:

| Fried Shrimp "Chicago Style" and Hush Puppies |
The potato pancakes were good but not the best I've ever had. Probably the least enjoyed item but I would lean towards fairly standard. Sorry I can be snobbish about potato pancakes cause I highly enjoy ordering them whenever they are on a menu. You had the options of sour cream or apple sauce to go with them. I went sour cream but I think if I go back I would choose the apple sauce to add some sweetness to it as this was a lot of fried food here.

In case you're wondering about the movie Suicide Squad- that was a 50/50 split between me and Hamid. Will do a quick cliff notes review: I was entertained and enjoyed it. Hamid did not enjoy it as much as I did and dare say not at all. Kind of a standard plot with bad plot points and bad editing. I will say it was way better than Batman vs. Superman.
