Mmmmmmm black bean burgers

Saw this Black Bean Burger on the Pioneer Woman's fb page the other day and decided that I should definitely try it. Also: I HAD ALL THE INGREDIENTS. Always a plus. It's a super easy recipe, two cans of black beans (drained, not rinsed), plus some minced onion, salt, pepper, bread crumbs, an egg and some chili powder. You mash up the beans (I used a potato masher which I barely ever use) and then mix everything else in. Let it sit for 5 minutes and then shape them and grill them.
Yes. It kind of looks gross. But it really sticks together well.

Before the first flip....

Post flip. I ate mine on a toasted bun with cherry tomatoes from my garden, and a smidge of mayo and hot sauce. Half of my kids liked them, shockingly. Oh. I also threw a Kraft single on them BECAUSE CHEESEBURGER. Also would be good with bacon. Mmmmmm so much bacon.

I highly recommend it. Mmmmm. Now to insta that photo so it looks even more pretty.
My one kid said that the texture was like chips. I didn't find it crunchy so I have no idea what that meant. But he ate it so yay! I will totally make these again. They made six big burgers. I will be freezing the rest individually for lunches or whatever. Mmmmm.
