But I digress - after the event wanted to hit up an arcade bar that was a couple buildings down but that place was packed plus they didn't have the Contra arcade game there. So basically was just a rest stop on the way to a food destination. The venue of choice was Los Comales which if you're not from Chicagoland area but most likely guessed it anyway is a Mexican Restaurant. They have several locations all over the place. Most frequent one I go to is in Aurora on Farnsworth but this one I happen to see driving back. It was across the street from the Congress Theater.
For the record I believe with leftovers and cooking at home Saturday marked the 5th consecutive day of me eating Mexican food. I'm not complaining cause I really love Mexican food. Who the hell doesn't? Anyway this Los Comales won me over instantly based on their table alone. I love and am addicted to their spicy pickled carrots and cauliflower. I can eat that nonstop like a fiend. This location had the largest serving/containers of them on each table that I have seen to date. I believe my first words upon looking at the table even before sitting down was "HELL YEAH". I may or may not have substituted a swear word for hell. More than likely I did. I mean check out this bad boy:

To compare the size that is a normal size ketchup bottle next to that container. I don't know how much damage I put to the contents of that container but I'm fairly certain a high amount of calories were earned. Which technically speaking for you calorie counters out there- these aren't too shabby normally. Something about them just makes me want to keep eating them while in front of me. Good stuff in my book.
Meal wise I typically stick to steak tacos at Los Comales as they have never failed me. Pretty sure if I had to pick a last meal it would be steak tacos as those are my favorite / go to meal. I mean I do have a taco tattoo on my arm so I pretty much can't pick something else now can I?

So today (Sunday) decided to involve myself in shenanigans and glitter bomb Tina's place. I rigged the ceiling fan with glitter packets so that when she turns on the fan it would sprinkle everywhere. Pretty much it worked so bonus points on that. Level of surprise not so much as she typically has the fan on. Still she loves glitter so a win on either side. Also I used this as an excuse to go eat at Standard Market which is near by and I've ranted about previously.
This time around I was in the mood for pizza and went with their Farmer's Market pizza. That has includes creamy parmesan alfredo, roasted garlic oil,
seasonal oven-roasted vegetables, fresh mozzarella cheese, arugula, and balsamic glaze. The seasonal vegetables this time included asparagus, tomatoes, onions, and zucchini.

While there did some perusing as there is a supermarket and I had just installed their phone app which gave me a coupon for a free reusable bag. Can't go wrong with that! Saw a couple things of interest but that I did not pull the trigger on.

The second item was more in line for Tina as she is what some folks might consider a beer snob. Not sure why she is considered that as I've seen her drink all types of beers from cheap to some what fancy. She's a foodie adventurer and lives by a Binny's so I mean it makes sense that she tries random beers.
